no it's not illegal if you aren't on parole but keep in mind your computer hard drive keeps those records/emails you send and receive forever and you can't delete

Legally speaking, yes. But if it is for private consumption between adults, there is unlikely to be any prosecution.
I'm assuming the parts belong to willing adults, and not children.
